I was told I should have my thyroid tested for thyroid hormone before I started taking Synthroid. But my doctor was not so sure and told me to wait and not take it. I was told I would have to take Synthroid for a few years before my TSH came back to normal. I'm now on the 2 mg of levothyroxine (T4), but I have tried it on several other things, including Synthroid. My TSH is only slightly elevated (4.6) and my TSH (normal - 0.4) has been slowly raising. My doctor prescribed me an additional 5 mg of Synthroid before I went to see my family doctor. I'm hoping that my TSH will come back to normal soon. I can't even tell if it's the Synthroid or the T4 because it is not working.
I've been having issues with my blood sugar. I've been taking my regular medication (Tinvo-C, Tylenol, etc.) for the past month. My doctor has recommended a metformin and a diet to manage my weight.
